Now You can Withdraw up to 25% of NPS Contribution

New PFRDA Rule

Starting February 1, 2024, new rules from the PFRDA allow you to partially withdraw from your PF account as per the circular issued on January 12, 2024.

You can withdraw only upto to 25% of your contributions (excluding employer contributions). A minimum of 3 years of NPS membership is required.

Withdrawal Eligibility

Number of  Withdrawals 

Maximum 3 partial withdrawals allowed throughout NPS tenure.

Permitted Reasons for Partial Withdrawal

Higher education of subscriber's children (including adopted children). Marriage of subscriber's children (including adopted children).

Permitted Reasons for Partial Withdrawal

Purchase/construction of residential house (subscriber or joint ownership). Medical expenses due to subscriber's disability.

Permitted Reasons for Partial Withdrawal

For hospitalisation & treatment expenses for diseases such as cancer, kidney failure, life-threatening accidents, COVID-19 and other terminal illnesses. (full list mentioned below)

Skill development/re-skilling expenses. Establishment of own venture/ startup.
